Work in Progress

I’m currently beginning my next book which will focus on the relationship between the body and sporting technology. Although it’s in a very embryonic stage at the moment, it will probably be from an existential / phenomenological perspective.

A chapter I’ve written with Steve Olivier on coaching dangerous sports is due to be published in Ethics of Sports Coaching in August. Additionally, I’ve co-authored an entry for second edition of Business of Sports Management on sports ethics with Leon Culbertson and Mike McNamee.

I’m also going to be working on the ICSEMIS 2012  (International Convention on Science Education and Medicine in Sport) public engagement programme which is designed to latch on to some of the technological and ethical issues to be found in 2012 Olympics and wider areas and make them accessible and relevant to the public. More details can be found on the ICSEMIS and PODIUM website.

I’m also coordinating the organising of a conference in the Philosophy of Play. This will be held at the University of Gloucestershire on the 12th and 13th April 2011. Call for papers can be found here.
