Professor Emily Ryall is a philosopher in sport, play and games at the University of Gloucestershire, UK.<\/p>

She has published and presented on a wide number of topics in these areas. She has been an invited contributor for the BBC, Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Guardian, New York Times, Cheltenham Science Festival, Battle of Ideas Festival, and Wellcome Trust, amongst others.<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
She has spoken and written about contemporary issues in the world of sport, such as doping, sportswashing, the inclusion of trans-athletes, the ethics of dangerous sports, the effect of technology in sport, and the beauty and value of sport.<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
She also has an interest in understanding games and play more generally, whether this is in the form of computer games, strategy games, or mindless but fun playful activity.<\/div>
\u00a0<\/div>
She currently works with UK Athletics, RFU, and Made to Measure Mentoring (M2M2), and has previously worked with Sports Resolutions on a EU funded project in sports governance, and for UK Sport on a culture and values audit.<\/div>
